“As they say in British Films, ‘the game is afoot’, and for Ms. Liviakis, that’s so true because she’s coming…here comes that New Kid in Town.”

Caroline Liviakis’ main goal as a choreographer and director is to inspire enthusiastic involvement and appreciation of concert and commercial dance from traditionally untapped  audiences. Her innovative aesthetic and artistic philosophy are based on four cornerstones.

Commercial and concert dance belong together: concert dance belongs in the public eye and commercial styles belong on a concert stage.

Blending these styles increases the artistry of commercial dance and increases the accessibility of concert dance.

A true work of art is both technically sophisticated and entertaining.

Theatricality and athletic, full bodied movement are not mutually exclusive.

The face is not only a tool to convey meaning, it also can be used as a canvas for technical choreography.

The face can be choreographed just the same as the body.

Dance is a tool of communication and should be held to the same standards in effectiveness and clarity as writing and speaking.

Pieces should have a logical structure and every component of the performance should support that structure.
